WIP Wednesday

Here we are again, sorry I missed last week. I didn't think I would make it this week either I spent the day in bed and normally my family would have called the paramedics I never spend the day in bed. I started getting a sore neck on Monday night and it just got worse so I thought I had better take care so heating pad and rest. I kept thinking of all the things I could be doing. I am so bad at sitting still. LOL.
Well I feel so much better today and here we are. I managed to get my HD borders all all and mitered the corners not bad. Now to get those baskets on and next borders. I don't have any of the fabrics I used in the center so I found some that will work. I hope. I also have to get ready for our cruise 20 days and we are gone. I want to make a pair of line slacks to go with a top and skirt I had made so that is a priority just now.
I also started cutting out 2" squares out of scraps crazy I know but have a bag full and will put them together whenever LOL. And then again there is my knitting started a scarf well ripped it out and will do over. Lots to do and am never bored. Hugs to all.

Well it has been a few weeks since I posted, not sure where the time has gone. I have been working on my Peaceful Pathways and my Heart's Desire quilts. I finished the Peaceful Pathway top today and I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out since I ran out of black and also the apricot fabric. Whew had to improvise in the corners. I used my stash for all the fabric and have enough of the flower fabric for the backing. Now to get the Heart's Desire quilt top done, then to quilt them. Hope you enjoy the photos. Happy New Year

Can't believe how time has gone by. We had a wonderful Christmas lots of food, family, and friends. We were busy with a few visits to friends for dinner and to celebrate the season.
This year we cooked turkey and my son smoked an eye of the round roast. I must say it was so delicious and tender. First time I cooked a turkey under 20 pounds but it was very nice and moist, the family really only likes the stuffing LOL but I love turkey. With all the side dishes mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes brussel sprouts etc..
I was spoiled once again with wonderful gifts from my children and hubby and friends. I so wanted to join Weight Watchers but did not want to spend the money (I should be able to do it on my own LOL)and I have been grumbling about the pounds I have gained since I hurt my arm and not able to go to exercise daily. Well I got a three month subscription and the kids said if I don't lose I have to pay them back LOL. That was perfect but not the only wonderful gifts I received.
Here is a photo of the most gorgeous crazy patch evening bag that Glenda from Australia sent me. She put so much work into this beautiful creation. I love it.
I am also posting a photo of my grand dog Harley he got a new bone and is trying to hide it from us. He is so darn cute. I hope everyone has a Happy Healthy and Creative New Year.

WIP WEDNESDAY

Here we are again it is Wednesday and I don't really have much to show. We had a busy week last week three couples came for dinner Saturday evening we had a lot of laughs and lots to eat. I made Lasagna and meat balls, salad and apple pie for dessert. Also a couple of cheese balls. We were all stuffed and of course lots of wine.
My family has been asking me to bake some Christmas goodies so yesterday I did some shortbread, some Magic Squares and some Tea Time Tassies. Only took photo of the tassies and the squares.
On the sewing front I managed to finish another border for my HD so on to starting the third border and will work on PP after the holidays.

Here we are again. I saw the surgeon last week and he said I am on track with my rotator cuff recovery. He was happy with my range of motion and now am in the weight faze of my Physiotherapy. I did have a rehab message and it was great. It sure helped me with the stretching of those muscles.
However this has not stopped me from getting some gifts ready for Christmas. It was fun using my embroidery machine again. I also got all my PP blocks cut out and have 5 completed so little by little I will get all 20 blocks done. I really want to get my HD finished and there is a lot to do.
I received the most beautiful flower arrangement from Dana and Tim for my birthday yes today is a biggie birthday. For sure am on the other side of the mountain well almost at the bottom LOL. Life sure goes fast these days.

Part of a gift for a friend

Well it sure is a busy season.On Thursday afternoon our dear friends Jim and Paul arrived at our house so that Paul could fill my urns outside with Christmas decorations he did the two of them and two wreaths for me. Then last Friday my daughter took me out for dinner and to see Mary Poppins to celebrate my birthday it is next week but she ordered the tickets ages ago. We had a wonderful time. The show was amazing. On Saturday she helped me decorate the Christmas tree and I got it all done whew...
I have been working on some gifts for friends will give you a sneak peak... In the mean time I have been cutting all the blocks for PP.
I would like to wish our American friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.

I have had a wonderful week, my DH and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary a true milestone but how wonderful. Our children took us and our friends out to dinner to celebrate. The day began with a dozen roses from my sister and her DH. Then our friends arrived at the door with Champagne on ice in a silver bucket and a dozen red roses. Then our daughter arrived and three of my children presented us with a card with a note saying that they are sending us on a trip to London England to visit some relatives. Well what a wonderful surprise we just could not believe it. Then we went off to dinner it was just a wonderful day all in all. Oh did I mention that my DH and I are also going on a cruise so I think we are very fortunate to have such great kids and wonderful friends.

Here is is again, sorry I missed last week got busy and missed the date.
This week I was able to get another border for my Heart's Desire ready to applique and got the scallops stitched down. I used my small travel iron to starch and press down the edges, and did not hurt my arm.
My son has had fun with the smoker, we did sausages and some summer sausage. Lots of work but oh so yummy.
I also am revisiting a wall hanging I made. You know all the beautiful fabrics you never want to cut up in your stash. Not sure why you bought it or what you wanted to do with it but it was too beautiful to pass up. Well here is what I came up with using a piece of oriental fabric I fell in love with. Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been a busy week once again, I worked on my Peaceful Pathways, and I had a mishap with the HST'S again LOL I put one strip on the wrong way but it is all fixed now. I think it will be a wonderful quilt when done. I love Esther's patterns she does such a wonderful job and is so generous with her talent.
I also had a few visitors on our deck this week we started feeding the birds again since winter is on its way. I think they enjoy visiting our deck and I love watching them. I also added a photo of the smoker my son bought he cooked smoked white fish on the weekend for dinner it was amazing. I am sure he will be cooking up a storm with his new gadget.

I almost did not make getting my post together. Here it is Wednesday again.
I still am wearing my sling but can take it off while watching TV and sleeping. Nice to get a bit of freedom.
I have been able to get some sewing done and it has been nice. Still have one border to put together and all the HST's all around. It is a fun quilt. I managed to get my corners done still have the stitching around the block. I was lucky enough to have a sweet friend digitize it for me. She did an amazing job.

Here we are again another week has flown by. Today I see the surgeon and hopefully I can get rid of my sling it certainly will feel good not to have it on 24/7.
I was able however to cut and sew this week and managed to complete my center for Peaceful Pathways from Ester Aliu it is so much fun working on her BOM's.
It is Fall here and I brought out my fall place mats and I always love the added touch of fall colours around the house. I also received from a cyber friend some gorgeous fabric I have it pinned to my design wall and am going to create something fabulous with those pieces. Thanks Wendy it was very sweet of you.

I just wanted to wish all the Canadian Fellow Bloggers out there a Happy Thanksgiving. I have a lot to be thankful for this year and always. Here is a photo of a wreath that our very dear friend Paul made for our front door he is so very talented and always has an very creative eye. I am so thankful for our friendship. I took a photo and then took into Photo Shop and added a few touches in the background and frame. Isn't it gorgeous. I just love it.

I missed WIP last week, but it has been an interesting and exciting week. I found 3 first cousins that I had never known, and one of them lives only 13 minutes away and he and his wife invited us for lunch on Saturday. They were so welcoming and it was so nice to get to know them a little. I am sure we will have many more times together. Hopefully someday I will be able to meet his sister and brother as they both live out of town. There is always something new around the corner you never know. It is so exciting.
I am still wearing a sling but have managed to get one of my borders for my Hearts Desire and the four heart corner baskets are ready to apply when the other borders are done. I will have to wait for a few weeks till I am out of this sling.

Here we are again, yes the weeks fly by fast and at the moment I don't mind a bit. I started Physiotherapy this week and it was no bad at all. I will have to wear the sling for about three more weeks. I can take it off now to do my exercises and it feels good to be out of it for a few minutes. My surgeon was very impressed that I took a tee shirt and cut the shoulder apart and added snap tape. He would like me to make one for his office when I am better. LOL Sure makes it easier to get dressed. I did the same for a couple of nities too.
I received some great gifts this week three kimonos from an amazing friend Glenda, far far away, simply so very generous. I was actually speechless when the parcel arrived.
Today my son came home with a Bluetooth Stereo Headset it is wireless for my Ipod and Ipad2 it is amazing. I am one lucky gal.
I also have been able to do some hand applique work on my Hearts Desire border. One almost done three to go.

Here are a couple of photos, I guess you might say I will be a work in progress next week. This is a photo of the sling I will have to wear 2-3 months after my surgery on Friday. Not a pretty thing LOL hopefully when I am a bit better I might be able to hand stitch, or knit. I will be good and not do anything I am not supposed to do, I do not want to have anything go wrong this surgery has been a long long time coming. I tried physio for a long time but did not work so surgery is the answer. I also and adding a photo of a visitor we had the other night on our deck. This is as wild as we get here. He was not a bit afraid either. He loved the crackers I had put out for the birds. Guess I had better not do that again or he will move in. LOL.
The last photo is some HST all prepared to machine stitch with one hand, when I am up to it.
I won't be participating next week unless I am up to it, I will however try to sign on and see what you all are doing.

Well here it is Wednesday again boy these weeks just fly by. It has been another busy one for me. I managed to finish my Sister's portrait quilt and sent it off in the mail. Made some embroidered block for Esther's new quilt that I really have no business starting LOL. I could not resist and had some great fabrics to use in my stash. Did some embroidery for a special friend, and sent it off in the mail. Had Doctors appointments one with my GP to fill out paperwork. I also had pre op at the hospital and today an appointment with the surgeon. Trying to get a few things organized around the house before next Friday. There is always lots to do. I did manage to have lunch with a friend today and enjoy the beautiful weather we are having just now. Hope everyone is enjoying their day. I don't have much in the way of progress this week although I did get the background of my sister's portrait done. I will work on it this week. I also did some knitting and some hand applique on my Heart's Desire borders. I thought that you would like to see this video.The Birmingham Festival of Quilts in England. Oh my goodness here it is again, WIP Wednesday..
This week went by in a flash I guess it is because I got a ton of work done. I managed to get all pieces prepared for my Hearts Desire Quilt well all but 50 of those tiny circles.. That won't take long using those washers I bought. On Monday this week I started to work on my sister's Portrait Quilt I had her face done and I managed to get my BIL done and both dressed. It has been a busy week. I did not work on my sister's portrait quilt. I decided to get a bit more work on my BOM Heart's Desire Quilt. I still have tons of work to do but I wanted to get some of the applique pieces made for the borders. I managed to get 100 dark green leaves and 48 light green leaves made for the borders. I also got the stems made for the leaves. I worked on the center and got it all stitched together. Whew.... I just know it will be a while before it is finished but that is OK it keeps me busy stitching. I also bought some perfect circles by Karen Buckley but only three the size I needed in a package of all different sizes. Since I have to make a bazillion I bought some brass washers same size they work great, got 30 of them and now to make them for the borders. LOL

A Gorgeous Hydrangea

Hi everyone! Last year my friend Jeannie received this Hydrangea for Easter from our mutual friends. She enjoyed it in her condo for a couple of months and just before she passed she gave it to me and I told her I would put it in my garden to remind me of her and named it "Our Jeannie". It was a little sad looking when I planted it last May. It sure loved my garden because it had a new flower last year and look at it this year. It sure is a beauty just like Jeannie. Enjoy

Well here it is again Wednesday already, where the heck does the time go... How come when we were in elementary school the days were so long and summer was forever LOL?
Here are my WIP's for this week. I am loving my quilt blocks, there not all finished still have a couple of those @#% buds LOL and many many little circles. Whew where is the time going? Here it is again Wednesday and I did not participate last Wednesday because we were on vacation. Here are a few things that are my works in progress.
My new ruler will help cutting out one of my borders for my BOM, I have started a sweater with the Alpaca yarn that I got from Dana, only 8 rows done. Vacation, Alpaca and Goodies

We just got home from a wonderful time in New Hampshire. We went to see Dana and Tim at their Alpaca farm. What fun we had an amazing dinner that Tim cooked and we enjoyed feeding the Alpaca they are too adorable, and very curious. They also have 3 rabbits and a horse Murphy and a Mule named Phyllis.
We had a few fun days shopping at an outlet mall and then Dana took us to Keepsake Quilting Oh my goodness what a gorgeous place that was. I purchase a few yards ;) and a few supplies for my portrait quilts. I brought the finished Portrait Quilt I did of her Mom My friend Jeannie. She loved it and hung it on the wall immediately. We could all feel her presence while we sat and enjoyed a beautiful dinner that Tim cooked topped off with homemade ice cream.
Then on Sunday my hubby and I were off to Hampton Beach for 5 days we had a wonderful time. Here are a few photos for you to enjoy.

I am a day early but thought I would post today it has been busy around here. I have a few things on my design wall small as it is LOL. I am coming along with my BOM, and I am ready to start a new portrait quilt. These are so much fun to make. If you have not checked Marilyn Bedford's classes at Quilt University you should she is a wonderful teacher.
We also have the cute little mother in our lilac tree by our front door. She is a Cardinal and her hubby sits on the fence and comes to visit and feed her they are so pretty together. I did not get him in the photo but got a nice one of her. You can click on the photo to enlarge.

Christmas in July/Wow Wednesday

I was working on a project that I could not post because it was to be a Christmas gift for our friends. Well I could not wait til Christmas, so we invited them for a BBQ last night and gave them their gift. Were they surprised and they loved it too. I was so excited to see them open it. I think it deserves a WOW for Wednesday too LOL.
I took another class at Quilt University with Marilyn Bedford and I absolutely love her classes. I just know I will make more of these. Marilyn is a wonderful teacher and it was fun hunting through my fabric stash to get the right shade of fabric for this project. There is a link to Marilyn's web site on my sidebar. Going for My Death Ride

At the best of days I hate driving in a car. I am a nervous Nelly. I really do not like it at all even if the car has doors on it. Yesterday my daughter took the doors off her Jeep and wanted me to go for a ride I said no way.... Today we had to go to the store and she said come on Mom lets go. Well with hesitation I got into the death chamber and off we went. Hair blown to pieces and thankfully got home safe and sound. My sister would have loved it she has even gone in hot air balloons. Not me I am a scaredy cat. LOL. Enjoy the photo.

Happy WIP Wednesday I do have a work in progress but sad to say I can't show you because it is a Christmas gift for a friend and I don't want to spoil it. Of course I am working on my BOM there is lots to do there, working on the second of block 4.
I also wanted you to see a little friend that came to visit. I wondered who was digging in my planter that is fixed to my outside wall and there he is the cutest little guy and I don't mind at all. Well here it is again another week just flew by. It has been a busy week I have been working on my Flowers for me blocks. One done and another started so hopefully I am on target. There is no rush for sure but I would like to get most of it done before Sept.2 not the end of the world if not.
I have been asked to make 11 tablecloths by my daughter for her work. On Monday a friend helped me struggle with 22 meters of fabric and we cut them out. Yesterday I got them all finished with a rolled hem just have to make a couple of large cloths for their large tables. I hope to get them cut out today. Remembering my Friend Jeannie

Today is a day to remember my friend Jeannie it is a year today that she passed. I miss her so much but I know she is no longer in pain. I miss chatting with her everyday and sending her photos of my latest projects, our laughs together and so many things about our friendship. I am thinking of her family today and know that they all miss her too. Here is a photo of one of my favourite things that was hers. The two of us loved anything about the beach sun sand shells etc. This is a little memory of hers that Dana gave to me.

I have a few works in progress going on in my sewing room. I have a few that you can't see for now they are surprises for friends. Here is what I can show you I made myself a couple of robes had all fabric zippers etc in my stash so it goes from one closet to another. I am sure these will come in handy after my surgery. I did get a call today with a date. September 2nd and am on the cancellation list so hopefully it will be sooner. I also have all my applique pieces for my BOM blocks ready to be appliqued. I am quite involved with Esther's Hearts Desire BOM so I am trying to keep up before my surgery. Here is a photo of my WIP that one of these day I will finish. Just have to get the borders finished and put it together.

Update on torn muscle

Hi! Remember I was having trouble with a torn muscle in my rotator cuff. The surgeon sent me for a MRI that was interesting. On Monday I went for the results and I am booked for surgery for the end of July or beg of August just waiting for the exact date. Not going to be fun. No sewing OMG I will go crazy. Oh well I will be happy to have no pain. There will be lots of physio or should I say more physio. I have been going 3 times a week since February. I am going to finish the Portrait of Jeannie but will not post when it is finished because I want some of it to be a surprise for her daughter. We are going to visit her July 7th. I have lots to do before surgery. 11 tablecloths to make and will get some applique ready just in case I can hand stitch a bit when I heal a bit. The next blocks are uploaded at Esters blog and they are gorgeous so lots to do. Here are a few quilts from the show. Irene from Sunimp has posted better photos than I have, check her out.

Busy Weekend/My almost finished Portrait

This weekend is a busy one. I was at our Quilt Show yesterday all day and will be there today too. Will show some photos next post. I wanted you to see what I have done so far on Jeannie's portrait and show some background fabric. I have not decided on what one to use.
The weather is just terrible and will be for the next week so I will be in my sewing room all week working. I just found out that Esther has our next 4 blocks posted and I sure have my work cut out for me. LOL. This gal who never liked applique what happened to me LOL.

I used to be able to go to my dashboard and see who has posted a new post so I could read them and comment. It would link to other blogs now is says I am not following anyone but if I go to google reader they are there. I have no idea what happened or how to fix it. The help button is of no use LOL. I see a few fixes that I have to do. It is a good idea to walk away take a photo then go back to it. I have changed the skin tone several times so far. LOL.

A Wonderful Mother's Day/ Sneak Peek of my new project

Well all I can say is I am a very spoiled Mom. What a surprise when my daughter gave me a beautiful silver gift bag. Oh when I opened it there was an Apple keyboard and an origami case for my new I Pad that I got a few weeks ago. Thanks Veronica and Mike. Then my other daughter Donna came over to pick Veronica and I and we went out for brunch and with her she had a beautiful bouquet of gorgeous flower. All in all I had a fantastic Mother's Day.

Finished Golden Rabbit and BOM

Hi Everyone!
I finished my Golden Rabbit table runner the other day and now working on my BOM as in a few days we will get another block to start and Esther has a preview on her block. Looks like lots of leaves to make LOL. I am happy however that there are no more flower buds LOL.
I had a fun day yesterday with two girlfriends we went to a China warehouse sale. I have collected Port Meirion dishes and I was able to pick up some extra plates at a the sale and a few other goodies. Then out to a nice lunch what fun.

I found this web site the other day and I just love these new rulers. I had not seen them before and hopefully I can purchase them somewhere here in Canada. I am waiting for Sue to let me know how much the postage will be. It would be a whole lot easier if I could get them in Canada. I wish I had of seen them before because our Guild is having our Quilt Show May 14-15th and the vendors would sell out if they had them. Enjoy the video you will love them if you are a quilter.

Golden Rabbit stitched

I just had to get my Golden Rabbit stitched. He is all sandwiched (not sure why I think it is a he LOL) I have no idea how I am going to quilt him so will leave it for now and get back to my block of the month blocks so I can not be too far behind the group.

Well I am enjoying her BOM but she sure has me hopping LOL. She posted a pattern of a Golden Rabbit for Easter. I just had to try it. It only took her an afternoon to do hers well not me LOL took me a couple of afternoons and I still have all the stitching to do. It is not hand applique but fused then stitched. I have not had time to start the stitching but this is what I have done so far. She is so very generous with her patterns and so creative it is amazing. Thanks Esther for the fun projects.

Our Birthday balloons for Jeannie (Gypsy)

Today we had our little quilt group luncheon, we usually have it on Thursdays but since it would have been Jeannie's birthday today we wanted to celebrate her by releasing our balloons together. We were at Joan's, Gladys Beverley and I. After lunch we opened the window and removed the screen and up up and away they went.
We have been meeting together since 1998 some started sooner than I. You see Jeannie taught me how to quilt in 1994 and have not stopped. She was an inspiration to all of us. We sure miss her in our little group.

On Tuesday Dana, Jeannie's daughter would like us to Celebrate Jeannie's Birthday she would have been 85 on Tuesday April 19th. Dana would like us to release a bright colourful balloon in her memory. Ready to do all the stitching

Well I went for my MRI last night. I did not know that I had to stay still for 30 minutes thought it was only 15. However I made it through the pain of my arm, they had to position it so the shoulder was open so I had to extend my palm out and that hurts to do that. I got though it thinking of all those who are worse off than me. Especially all the stuff my friend Jeannie had to go through. Now to wait for the results, in the mean time I am having fun with my Portrait Quilts. Here is a photo all pressed down and ready for the thread painting. The teacher Marilyn Bedford told me to take the gold rims off and just do the stitcing for the rims. Will collect all the thread and start later but I do have to get some work done on my BOM do not want to fall behind.

My Grandfather's Portrait Quilt

It has been a busy time around here. I have to get a MRI tomorrow night to see what is going to happen with my torn muscle on my rotor cuff. Not sure I need surgery or not. If I have to have surgery I will have my arm in a sling for three months can you imagine me not being able to play with fabric. I can't but will see what happens when the surgeon gets the results of my MRI.
I have been working on my BOM and my grandfather's portrait quilt. Here is a photo of it so far. None of this is pressed down yet or stitched down. I am awaiting the teachers critic before I go ahead. This class as I have said before it amazing I have learned so much from Marilyn Bedford I have posted her link in my sidebar under links.

Working on another Portrait Quilt

Whew where did the week go. Saw the surgeon about my torn muscle and now have to have a MRI. I thought I was going to have to wait 6-8 weeks for an appointment but to my surprise my appointment is next Wednesday. The surgeon really does not want to do surgery if possible. I do not want it either when he told me I would have to have my arm in a sling for 3 months I immediately felt better LOL. I can't imaging me not doing anything for 3 months. Until I know for sure I will not worry and just carry on playing with fabric. Here is what I have done with the help of the teacher Marilyn Bedford she is amazing. She sure got me on the right track. This photo seems so much harder than the one I did of my hubby and I. I found it more difficult getting the right shades in my fabric. Getting Ready for Our guild Quilt Show

Our Guild, The Halton Guild is having our Quilt Show, May 14th, 15th, at
The Royal Botanical Garden. This is the second time we are having our show there. It is a beautiful venue and we are very fortunate that we have such wonderful guild members that give so much of their time and energy to make sure it is a beautiful event. I am looking forward to helping out at the show, as I have not been able to get to the meetings this year for one reason or another. Here are my entries for the show. I have two more sleeves to add to two of the quilts and their labels. I spent the weekend trying to get this done so I can carry on with my Grandfather's Portrait quilt. Oh yes I also got all the pieces ready for my next three BOM blocks.

What I am working on

Now that I have finished my Portrait Quilt I would like to start another one. I have had this photo of my Grandfather for a while it was taken at my Grandparent's 50th anniversary when I was 17. Now that is a long time ago LOL.
Here is what is done so far. It is all traced on to my muslin now to proceed with all the pieces. This is the fun part. Seeing it come alive is amazing. If you want to do one of these you should look into taking a class at Quilt University. Marilyn is a great teacher.
I am also in Esther's BOM link on my sidebar. I have two blocks done now and I am working on 3 more. Oh almost forgot I am also working on the borders of my nine patch quilt. These are also being appliqued. If my friend Jeannie could see what I am up to she would be laughing her head off. Jeannie and I always hated applique, we always admired anyone who had that talent but neither of us liked to do all that prep work you have to do for applique.

Finished Portrait Quilt

I finished my Portrait Quilt and named it "Fifty Years Together". The only thing left to do is to embroider a label, it is all ready to do on my Embroidery Machine.

I did a lot of tweaking since the last photo before I did the quilting. After taking this class you sure look at faces a little different LOL. Portrait Quilt and New Borders

Hi everyone! The teacher thought that my borders were a little too harsh and suggested lighter ones. I had some light aqua but had to go buy some teal for the inner border. I think it looks better too. I did add more thread work and I think now it might be ready to sandwich and quilt. I will wait till the last class. I have my BOM to work on so have always something to do. ;)

I finished the thread work, and my portrait quilt is ready for borders and quilting. I sent this photo in to the teacher to see what she thinks. I have not stitched these borders down yet. She loved all the thread work and said it was like a beautiful watercolor. Oh I was so excited to hear that. I am not artist and I really think with her help this came out pretty good if I do say so myself. LOL

A Little Something to Help a little one in Japan

You all know about the devastation in Japan and I know most of us want to do something. Well there is a lot to do but when I read this morning on Quiltsalot blog I knew I had to wrap up a quilt and send it off. This little quilt I have had for such a long time and wanted to donate it to the Guild but have not been able to get to a meeting this year. Guess it was meant for me to send it to Japan so it is all wrapped and ready for the post office. I did wrap it in a plastic bag just in case there would be dampness on the way there. Here is my little donation.

I worked on my Portrait Quilt today did some tweaking and I changed my shirt actually I dressed and undressed all day LOL. Could not decide what fabric to use for my shirt. The one I wanted was too much like the skin tones. I just sent this photo in to the teacher and she said it is good enough to proceed to the next step.
The stitching down of all the pieces then some thread painting. I am going to select all the threads and do a practice on a sample square with all the fabrics I used.

Still working on my Portrait Quilt

It was a busy week for me this week, so I did not have much time to work on my Portrait Quilt but did do some today. I also got some news about my shoulder this week. I hurt it last August had a cortisone shot in October. Then we changed doctors, and when I finally got to see my new doctor she sent me to Physio. I have been going three times a week for about 5 weeks and I saw her about a 2 weeks ago and asked her if I needed an ultrasound she booked one and also an appointment with a sports doctor. Well on Tuesday evening she called to say that she got the results of my ultrasound and I have a torn muscle from my rotator cuff. She also said that she was referring me to a surgeon as I probably will have to have surgery. So that is my news. Hope the surgeon calls soon for my appointment. In the meantime it does not bother me to stitch and play thanks goodness. I will be careful though and will continue physio til I know more.

I have been enjoying my class at www.quiltuniversity.com. There is lots to learn, and Marilyn Bedford is really good and very helpful. Once you get going on something like this it is really not as hard as I thought it would be. Believe it or not I did not even have to go and purchase anymore fabric had all I needed. That is the hardest thing to do is to decide on the shades of fabric.
I also have finished my BOM with Esters group link is in my sidebar.
I have also been asked to help out a the office for the next three days so no time to sew.

Thank goodness the third class is all about thread painting I know how to do that so I can catch up with my photo this week. I was not too smart by trying two faces for the first time LOL.

Hi everyone! You all know I have been talking about taking a class at Quilt University on line. Well I did sign up before we went on our cruise. It is amazing what all the students are doing. I am learning a lot. Not sure I will be able to finish it nice enough to show you LOL. The teacher is Marilyn Bedford and I have shown you her book a few times. She is amazing. I will keep you posted on my progress. As you know I am also working on my nine patch borders.. Now my dilemma Ester has started her mystery quilt and I so want to do that too. Our Very First Cruise

Hi! Well time sure flies when you are having fun. It sure was fun planning our cruise but wow did we enjoy ourselves. We really did not know what to expect and what a wonderful surprise. It was everything that everyone was telling us about it and then more.
The Ship was just amazing we were on the Celebrity Eclipse and the service was just amazing. Food, well there are no adjectives to explain I gained 4 pounds thought it was going to be way more. I did love the ice cream bar... LOL Here are a few photos of our trip. Now we are going to plan another one but for more than 7 days.

Borders for my Nine Patch and SNOW

Thank goodness the snow is this week and not next week. Nice that my hubby has a snow blower, he helps lots of neighbours on our street. Hopefully we don't get anymore next week, as we are about to board a plane to go to Miami and then board our ship to the Caribbean. Have been looking so forward to this. Got most of our things ready to pack.
In between getting ready and putting the final touches on my outfits I decided to start on the borders for my nine patch. I know when we get home I will be busy with my class with Marilyn Bedford and wanted to have some hand work ready for the evenings. Will let you all know how much fun we had when we come back.
PS It just started to snow again guess there will be more snow blowing. ;)

Scrappy Nine Patch

I have been working on my scrappy nine patch in between doing some final touch ups on my outfits for our cruise. Can't wait to go and get out of this cold snowy place for some sun and fun. I will add some applique borders to my nine patch but can't start them until I have the top all sewn together. Hopefully it will be sewn together this week. Have to take it a bit easy on my sewing because I have had trouble with bursitis in my shoulder and even with a cortisone shot it is not healed yet. I will have to start some physio next week.

I think I talked about this April 2009. I purchased Marilyn's book picked up supplies and was going to sign up for her class. Life just had me doing other things. I did not want to sign up until I could really get involved LOL. If I wait for that I will never do it. I looked up her classes at Quilt University an you won't believe this but the first class starts on February 18th hmmm we will still be on our cruise. Oh well I decided that I would sign up and I will work hard to catch up with her class when I arrive home. I am not sure how well I will do in this class but I really want to go for it. I so love her work and am looking forward to learning lots.

New Year and New Outfit and New Quilt

Trying to get back to some quilting but had to finish up an outfit I had cut out. I think it turned out ok. Spent lots of time trying to decide about the trim on the top but finally found some in my stash. We only have 34 days before we are on our way to our first cruise. We can't wait..
Need to get those last few pounds off LOL plus the 2 that seemed to creep back on me over the holidays. Sure does not take much to gain and so darn hard to get it off.
I also am going to finish up a quilt I had started last year well most of the blocks are done but I plan on doing an applique border on it so I can't get that started till the middle is finished. Till the next time.

Just wanted to pop in and wish all my friends in blog land a Very Happy, Healthy, and a bit of Wealthy, and productive New Year.
I am sure you all are feeling the effects of all that Christmas had offered this year. I know that it is time for me to get back on track. Hmmmm only 5 more Friday's till we Sail away on Celebrity. Have to fit into all those outfits I made for the cruise. LOL.
We had a wonderful Christmas, I was spoiled with many many wonderful gifts. Lulu Lemmon pants on of Oprah's favourite things. I also received and have been playing with Electric Quilt 7. It sure looks like fun software, lots to learn but looks easy enough to click around, it has great video tutorials I am a visual learner.
Stay tuned hopefully I can produce a quilt from this program LOL. We received some beautiful flowers from Dana and the rose in the center was one of my friend Jeannie's favourite flowers. Enjoy your evening and fun sweeping in the New Year.

A 20 year UFO

I know we all have UFO's I try my best not to have too many and I had forgotten about this one. The other day I was cleaning up bins and getting rid of excess fabric that I will never use. I found a plastic bag and I looked in it and found a Santa that I had cut out in 1990. I am sure I am not the only one that decided to make something and cut out two cause it is too cute not to. Well I am not sure what happened to the original one I made guess I gave it away to someone. I decided that I had to make it. Of course the pattern instructions were not in the bag so I had to go through all my books and I finally found it. Started to put it together yesterday and today I finished him. I love him. I also made another Three Wise Women cushion for a friend. Now I am sure many of you do not have UFO's as old as mine LOL. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year. Enjoy the Season.

Double Wedding Ring Quilt all finished and quilted

I just can't believe I have really finished this quilt. I never thought that I would get through all those leaves, (140) of them cutting them out basting and then applique on the border and the vines and flowers. I tell you it is not perfect but I have learned a lot about applique. I hope to get better at it, if and when I do another one. LOL. The whole process is really not my thing. Drawing all the patterns on freezer paper reversing some of the pattern, UGH basting by needle or glue basting. Nearly stuck myself to the sofa. Then after they are stitched by hand on you have to get rid of the paper I do think hand basting is better even though it takes forever. Getting rid of the paper that were glued was terrible, won't bore you with the details. I decided to quilt it using my embroidery machine and some quilt designs. I had to edit some of the designs to fit the background but it worked out. I did free motion all the borders. The best part is I can now start another quilt LOL. Hope you like it. Hugs

Christmas Poem Cushion

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi to everyone. It has been a busy season I am sure for all. I still have wrapping to do and a few other things on my list. But I wanted to show you a great little pillow I made with a great poem. I also made another cushion for a friend that had admired the one I had made several years ago. Hope he likes it.

Progress on Quilting my DWR Quilt and Christmas

Oh my gosh where did November go. Whew I started Christmas shopping managed to get a few bargains. Thank goodness I don't have to do much shopping, never know what to buy we all have to much stuff LOL but I do love getting gifts LOL.
I have been working on quilting my double wedding ring quilt. I have hooped each and every design on my embroidery machine they are all single stitched designs. Not the easiest thing to do on a large quilt but if I could do free motion like this I would but I am not good at free motion at all. I do have to do the flowered borders yet and that will be done free motion as best I can. Wish me luck. Wish I could quilt like Wendy if you have not seen her site check it out, be sure to scroll down and see her amazing work all done on a regular machine not a longarm. Boy is she good.

Made some tops and quilting

Hope all our American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a fun Black Friday. I heard on Ellen yesterday that the reason they call it Black Friday is because everyone is mourning the loss of their money LOL. I did a bit of shopping myself her in Canada there were lots of sales too.
I have been busy getting the tree up and doing some stitching, I made two tops not that happy with the red one but it will come in handy and it only cost me $7.50. The aqua one was the last bit on a roll and I managed to get a top out of it, when it is on the bottom gathers around the middle. When I was in Montreal I picked up a sweater for $9.00 and when I was at the mall yesterday I saw a sleeveless top that would be perfect with the cardigan. I got it home and the cardigan needed a little glitzing up so I changed the buttons to some I had in my stash.
I am also working on quilting my DWR quilt, it is coming our ok I think. Lots more quilting to do yet.

Sweet Retreat Quilt Finished

I have decided that I needed to finished some quilt tops that I had made. I love this quilt it is from a free pattern from Better Homes and Gardens The pattern called for floral fabric in the large blocks but I embroidered all those blocks on my Embroidery Machine. The designs are from Hatchedinafrica.com her designs are wonderful.Those prairie points on the edge were a little tricky but they really finish off the quilt. I just did simple straight line quilting wish I was better at thread painting. Someday maybe.. LOL.
I am ok with stippling but thread painting no so much. Hope you like this. Now I have to quilt my DWR it is all sandwiched and ready to go. Have a great day.

12 Days of Christmas Wall Hanging

Hi all Bloggers! I spent some time this weekend quilting my 12 Days of Christmas Wall Hanging, did the binding last night and here is is. Our Montreal Trip

Oh my we had so much fun on our trip to Montreal. My youngest daughter and I took the train to Montreal to visit my sister and her hubby. The train ride was great. We took our laptops and watched Netflix and was able to check emails etc. What a new world we are living in. My sister and her hubby met us at the station and off to Pete's for the best smoked meat in the world.
We toured Montreal everyday and saw many sights my brother in law was a great tour guide, he took us everywhere. We ate out everyday from the smoked meat to Poutine, BBQ chicken, French onion soup and crepes. Oh my I am afraid to get on the scale.
My brother in law runs a booth at a flea market and we spent time there one day before it openned and he gave us each a new coat well my daughter got two. How wonderful and generous is that. I just love my new red coat. My sister made an appointment at her hairdresser for me to get a new hairdo, what fun that was. A new me in my new coat. :)
My sister had some great photos from years ago and I made copies of them. I will add the photos for you to see. All in all a wonderful week.

Mystery BOM Part 5 and a wonderful gift

I thought I had better get busy with my BOM Mystery Part 5 because I will be away next week in Montreal visiting my sister.
This sure has been fun to do. Lots of stitching and sorting out fabric. This is the background for the 12 baubles that I made the last couple of weeks. Hope you like it.

I also received this beautiful scarf from my dear friend Dana. She has a large loom made it on her loom it is so wonderful and soft. I just love the colours and I will be wearing it to Montreal it is getting chilly out there. Well I had better get packing, should be a fun trip with my daughter.

Double Wedding Ring top Finished Yipeee

I can't believe that I have finished my DWR top applique border and all. Oh my goodness it is not perfect and it still has to be quilted, but I can say I have made an applique quilt. I have as some of you know always hated applique. I guess I don't mind the stitching but the prep work is not my favourite. LOL The photos are not the best it is difficult to get a full photo not having a design wall big enough.
It finished up as 90" by 102" bigger than the pattern said but I made my borders a bit larger. Now to get the backing made and decide if I will quilt it or not. I have made a couple of quilt designs in my embroidery software will have to test them.
Now I am thinking of my next project, one is a 9 patch scrap quilt that I have all the nine patches made and then do an applique border or do I do this patter I purchased called "Aunt Millie's Garden" It kind of looks way over my head lol. I will see.

Last Four Baubles for the Christmas Mystery Wall hanging

Hope everyone is well. I have been busy this week working on my Double Wedding Ring Quilt not much more to do but slowly getting there. I also made 50 9 patch for a scrap quilt so have a total of 99 now. They are just waiting to be put in a quilt.
I received the PDF files for the next step in the Mystery Christmas Wall hanging quilt that I am involved in. Lots of tiny pieces to put together. Can't wait to put it all together. You will notice that two are faceless I have to get one of those fine marking pens. Here they are the last four baubles.

Thanksgiving, Sad news and some stitching

First of all we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our friends lots of food, wine, sweets and laughs. It was so beautiful out with the trees full of colour sure is a beautiful fall this year.

Then yesterday I got a call from a friend's daughter telling me that my friend her mother died suddenly of a heart attach. It is sure sad sudden news even though we had been out of touch for the past few years she was still a friend. It will be difficult for her family with such a terrible loss.

I also have been doing some stitching with the 12 Days of Christmas mystery wall hanging. As some of you know I am not much of an applique gal and especially pieces this small. But I was committed to doing this so here is a photo of my baubles so far. My hen looks a little wild might have to redo her. LOL. Hope you like them.

Yesterday I joined a Free Christmas BOM the first block is a paper pieced block and I had to make 12 of them. Once I got going it was fun. Evening Bag

I have been out looking for an evening bag... well ouch some of them are priced too high. I remembered I had a book called Bags with Style and went through all the patterns and found one. I also had some gold pleather, and some gold lame in my stash and even the buckle. So here is what I came up with today and got rid of some stash LOL. Hope you like it. :)

Can't believe it has been a couple of weeks since my last post. I have been busy doing some stitching. I finished my green and brown outfits had all the hand stitching to do and buttonholes etc.. I also had to hem the silvery outfit not sure I am thrilled about this one I added some embellishment to the neckline and added some pearls too. I had not mentioned that all this stitching of these new outfits are for a cruise yes a cruise my hubby and I are going on to the Caribbean. We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary (a few months early) but I can't wait. Never in a million years did I ever think that my hubby would go on a cruise. We are not going till February but I am so excited about it. We are going with two other couples too so I know we are going to have an amazing time. I was out shopping today for a pair of white slacks, got some crops and shorts all 70%off. I also found this wonderful top that will be perfect with the brown silk outfit.

I am still working on my DWR and had to take one of my borders off to square off the center of the quilt I had not noticed a big boo boo. A lesson learned.

A Wonderful Day With Friends

A couple of weeks ago I got an email from our wonderful long time friends in New York. They said that they were going to come to Niagara Falls and wondered if we could meet them for lunch. Oh my goodness what a wonderful surprise. We had not seen each other in almost 20 years. We met them at their hotel overlooking the falls they had a fantastic view from their room, you can see some of the shots from their window. We had a delightful lunch and lots of catching up to do even though we speak on the phone and email it sure is not that same as giving your friend a big hug. Our youngest daughter took the day off to came with us. She remembers my friend when she was little cause she would send her parcels in the mail with Disney videos It was a nice childhood memory for her and she wanted to come with us.

Fun Time With Friends

Just wanted to share with you a wonderful time we had last night. A few friends came for dinner. We had planned a BBQ with steaks and all the trimmings. While I was telling Dana (Gpysy's daughter) she said we have to come to Mississauga to finalize some estate paperwork, and it happened to be on the same date as our planned dinner party. Wow!!! Dana said they would love to come and that her hubby would make Lobster thermidor and would bring it. Now they drove all day to get here. We wondered if they would have trouble at the border with all the traffic for Labour Day weekend. We could not believe it they sailed through no problem and everyone arrived within minutes of each other. It was a night full of food, wine and much laughter. The only problem was that it went too darn fast. Here are a few photos for you to enjoy.
The Sunflowers are from Paul and Jim, the Hydrangea's are from our garden, the blue one is from a plant that Gypsy was given for Easter from Paul and she gave it to me after Easter to plant in our garden and it has bloomed twice since June. I just had to cut it and use it for our dinner table. We had a toast to her because she originally brought us all together. I just know she was looking down on us with a big smile.

On a Roll

Hi Everyone!
I am on a roll, managed to make a couple of other outfits. I picked up some dark brown silk at one of the Fabriclands last week while I was out with the girls for lunch. There was only 2 meters on the bolt at $7.00 a meter took it made the jacket, and thought I would check out the Fabricland here near where I live and sure enough there was a piece left on a bolt in the sale display, and there was 1.5 meters took that for $7.00 a meter. I picked up some lining on sale for $3.00 a meter made the skirt. I have a box of notions from a neighbour these were samples and I found in that box a belt buckle and made a belt to match. I also made a top with some embroidery, to go with a jacket I made a few years ago and have never worn it. I haven't done any embroidery for a long time. All this was fun to do. I still have to do all the hand stitching on the outfits. I think it was a nice change to do some garment stitching.
I have the last border finished and will stitch it onto the main quilt top and then add all the flowers and leaves in the corners. It is almost finished and this has been a fun project. Well it will have to be quilted too. ;)

New Outfits

I have been busy sewing, well yes I sew almost everyday LOL. Instead of quilt making I made a few outfits. My dear friend Jeannie whom I miss so very much, had this wonderful lime green silk dupioni she had given me some a few years ago for my birthday but she had a roll of it left when she passed. Her Daughter Dana generously gave me some of it. I made a long skirt and a jacket. Think I will do a little top stitching on the jacket and not sure if it needs a button or not. I also had this knit that I got for $3.00 a meter like a slinky knit so I made some pants and a top. I still have to do the hems on skirt and pants.
Not to worry I am still working on my last border of my double wedding ring quilt top. Once that border is done there are several leaves that have to be added to the quilt top and a vine coming from the border to the edge of the main body of the quilt. Hi everyone out in Blogland!
Harley is home with his Mom Dad and the kids. I hope they continue with the leash, but the kids well they are 17 and 15 thought that it was cruel and did not like it. LOL So there you go, I probably will have to retrain if they go away again LOL. Hopefully Mom will try it anyway.
I have been working on my Double Wedding Ring quilt have one more border to finish then there are more flowers to put on the mitered corners and lots of leaves go on the center of the quilt around the edges, and some flowers too. I think it is looking pretty good so far. I will keep working on it won't be long before it is done. Never thought I would get this far with all those applique flowers and leaves etc. Thanks for stopping by have a great day.

Update on Harley and Dog Whisperer LOL

As I said in my last post we are looking after our granddog, he is adorable but terrible with other dogs especially on our walks. Got him on Saturday morning and first walk was a nightmare, thought I would teach him to heal LOL. Second walk no better and third one terrible again. On Sunday I decided this is not good for my arms so I went to WalMart and bought one of those leads for dogs that pull LOL. Well the first walk he tried to take it off but without success. The next walk he walks like a new dog. Now when we pass another dog he tries to growl etc. but I say No Harley and give a pull on that lead he is wonderful. What a difference, he walks close to me without pulling at all. Here he is with his new lead on him too cute.
I thought he would not want to go but he still gets so excited when I say lets go for a walk. Hope my daughter continues to use this lead. Hope you enjoy his photo.

Scraps and Babysitting My Granddog

Hi everyone in Blog land!
Last week when I organized my stash I found all these half triangles and decided to put them together. Took forever it seems. Now what to do with them? Also a friend gave me some 2" strips in pastels as you so maybe I see a quilt with nine patch and these half squares in it. It is all neatly in a container, hope I don't forget about it LOL.
I am still working on my DWR borders have one border to go. It is fun doing applique Oh No did I say that. LOL.
This week we are also babysitting my granddog. His name is Harley and he is the cutest dog but he is a terrible walker he growls and snarls at other dogs and this morning on our walk I almost hug him on his leach. I brought treats so when he was good and walk close to me gave him a treat. Guess I have to watch the dog whisperer again LOL. He might gain a few pounds with all the treats LOL.

Fabric Stash Before and After

I have been wanting to tidy up my fabric for months LOL. Yesterday was the day I started and I just finished.
I should have taken the photo before I started but you can see by the bottom of the first photo how the first two shelves looked. I took it all out and re folded and placed it all back in the cabinets. Some of the shelves are three deep but I can just slide the front row out and see what is there all neatly folded. I do have a green garbage bag full of scraps that will go to the guild for sure. I have a bucket full that I might just empty too.
Whew am I glad that job is done. I did notice that I love turquoise LOL lots of those colours in my stash. Guess I have lots of quilts to make. LOL

Diamond Lapquilt finished and some Flowers

I am so pleased that the diamond lap quilt is all finished. Today I decided to get my brother-in-law's lap quilt on my frame. It will take no time to get that done for him.
As everyone knows this summer has been hot as blazes but our flowers are looking fantastic thanks to my dear hubby who takes care of all the watering etc.

My daughter came over last night with a wonderful surprise for me a gift certificate for a manicure pedicure etc. how sweet is that. She was catering a wedding on Sunday for 80 people and asked me if I would make potato salad for the wedding as she was running out of time. I said sure, no problem. Do you know how many potatoes you need for potato salad for 80?? Well 20 pounds did the trick. Took me three hours after all the potatoes were cooked, to peel them and make them into salad. So the gift certificate was a thank's Mom. I so appreciate it.

DWR Borders and Scrap Diamonds

Last night we had dinner with friends, actually Jeannie's friends too she introduced us to them.We have known them for several years but have not had dinner together in a while. It was fun to catch up. They are trying to convince us to go on a cruise with them next February. We had a wonderful time and they presented me with a gift. Betty Boop isn't she adorable.
I also decided to finally get my diamond scrap quilt out and quilt it. Now all that is left is hand stitching the binding. I also have finished one DWR border and the other one is almost done. I have been enjoying doing all this hand work.

Been Busy

I finished putting together the lap quilt for my brother in law, now to quilt it. Will put in on my frame with my short arm machine next week.(Hopefully) LOL I made 6 place mats yesterday just have the binding on a couple left to do. I also have been working on my applique border for my DWR one border done and one half done. I did quite a bit while we were on vacation. Today I decided to make a thimble wall hanging, this also has to be quilted. It is small but fun to do. Got the pattern from http://fatcatpatterns.com she has some wonderful patterns. Hope you are all well in blogland. Now I must check out all your blogs, love to see what you all have been up to.

Back From Vacation At The Shore

We had such a wonderful time with our friends at the Jersey Shore. We just love it there, we had good food, lots of wine and lots of sun and sand. I put together a collage of photos for you to enjoy. One day I looked up at the sun to see a rainbow totally around it. I had never seen this before and not sure why it happened. I took several photos trying to get the total circle around the sun but it was difficult to get. There are a few photos of the surf. We saw lots of dolphins way out having fun in the water but too far to get a good shot. We had great weather, and lots of heat :)
but the breeze on the beach was glorious. Had a day away from the beach to do some shopping at the Outlet Mall. It was sure nice to put my toes in the sand.
When we got home our Hydrangeas were in full bloom and even the plant that Jeannie gave me to plant in my garden had a blue bloom on it, normally when you plant one it does not bloom till the following year but there it was as pretty as can be. Also my pink blooms are so very dark on one of my plants. It is nice to be back again and will check out all my list of blogs. Hugs to all.

A Surprise in the Mail box

Well today I received a wonderful surprise in the Mail box. I had entered a giveaway from Lisa at Lydia's Treasures, well if the truth be known I have entered hundreds of giveaways and this is the first one ever that I won. She sent me a lovely little bag she made and a beautiful souvenir from New Zealand a wooden bookmark, and a beautiful little card with a sweet note and an adorable pattern. Sprucing up an old tank top and a new scrap quilt

Hope all Canadians had a wonderful Canada Day yesterday and all our American friends are gearing up for July 4th celebrations.
Yesterday I decided to spruce up an old tank top with some trim of organza roses. I had purchases a meter of white but needed to tea dye a bit for my beige tank top. I think it looks pretty good. Not sure if I will do others or not. I also started another scrap quilt, like the one I brought my sister. Her hubby loved it and I decided to make him a matching one so when they are watching TV this winter they will each have their own.
We will be leaving for the Jersey Shore next week to visit our friends and a much needed break. I just love the beach it is my favourite place to be. I hate the ride it is 9 hours in the car but well worth it when I am there. I might be able to pop in while we are there but somehow I like the rest away from the computer too.
I will have my Ipod in hand with all my books on it (as some of you know I am not a reader) but do love to listen to books on my Ipod. Will chat with you all when we come home.

New Jacket and Applique

I had some time this weekend to sew up a linen jean jacket that I had embroidered. I love making these jackets lots of top stitching etc. The fabric is a linen, called artist cloth, I remember Gypsy and I bought yards of this stuff years ago at a great price. It always stiches up great.
I also would like to show my applique so far on my DWR quilt border. It is coming along fine. I am kind of enjoying all the hand stitching who knew LOL.

Working on the Borders

Well after looking and cleaning out my sewing room again took 3 hours I finally found the bias tape maker that I needed. Guess what it was in the first basket I looked in LOL. Silly me... I managed to make yards of bias and started on the applique. It sure is going to be a daunting job but I will to a little at a time, got one of the bird of paradise on and many more to go. Actually I think I made 140 leaves that have to be stitched on. Whew.... I will persevere at it I promised Gypsy that I would. Gypsy and I always said how we hate applique and she could not believe I was going to tackle this quilt. You see two of the gals in my group are doing it so I took on the challenge.
